Istem Medikal has worked in sales and marketing in the medical sector since 1995. In 2007 it founded its own manufacturing facility and began producing the goods it had previously marketed. It manufactures hydrophilic catheters to world standards and reports a first in hydrophilic catheter production.
Its R&D has been supported by TUBITAK (the Turkish Scientific and Technical Research Institution) and by SAN-TEZ of the Turkish Ministry of Industry & Trade, with technology partners at principal universities. The company says it has become the leader of its sector and has started to export. It uses automation technology in production, runs training programmes for its production staff and holds EN ISO 9001:2015 and EN ISO 13485:2016 quality certificates.
