Egemen International was established in 1980. For its first ten years it worked as a supplier, mainly through public hospital tenders in the Aegean Region. In its second decade it researched and marketed innovative, specialised products, including by import for the domestic market, and for the last 15 years it has manufactured the products shown on its website, importing some auxiliary raw materials.

The company states that it has held all national and international standardisation documents since 2005 and exports to more than 85 countries, with a 60% domestic and 40% foreign market share. It has received an innovation award, Stars of Export awards in 2009, 2012 and 2013, and an employment award in 2012. It employs more than 120 people and continues R&D work to improve product quality.

Its products include regional anaesthesia sets, spinal needles, special procedure needles, cleanroom clogs and mats, intrauterine contraceptive devices and chlorine release tablets. Its stated vision is to become a leader in the global market with the Turkish brand EGEMEN INTERNATIONAL.
