Varimed was founded in 1999 for the trade of medical supplies, and since then it has imported and sold medical gloves under its own brand. In 2008 it decided to start manufacturing compression stockings, anti-embolism stockings, elastic braces and lymphoedema arm sleeves.

A modern plant was installed in a 3600 m² building in Bayrampaşa, Istanbul, to meet the Medical Device Directives and ISO 13485 quality management requirements, and it was in full operation in 2010. All stages from raw material input to finished product are quality controlled, and the company continues R&D work with patient safety in focus. It states that it can compete with the world's leading companies on quality and capacity.
