Biem İlaç was founded in Ankara in 1991 as a distributor of biological medicines, first for Cutter USA and later for Bayer and Talecris. It has since built a portfolio of its own licensed products and began local production.The company runs an R&D centre in Gebze and a sterile injectables plant in the Çerkezköy Organised Industrial Zone, Tekirdağ, with 30,000 m² of covered area. The plant received PIC/S GMP certification and also offers contract manufacturing.Biem's range covers oncology, contrast media for CT and MRI, nephrology, ophthalmology, anti-infectives, anaesthesia and neurology, with a focus on treatments for rare diseases. It exhibits at CPHI and WHX Dubai and has an international markets department.
