Beta Medikal was founded in 1998 in İstanbul, starting with the import and sale of surgical hand devices for the Turkish medical device sector. It keeps around 2500 different products in stock, or can order them at once, across disciplines including General Surgery, Gynaecology, Orthopaedics, Urology, Neurosurgery, Cardiovascular and Otorhinolaryngology. Its technical service and team are certified by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE13011), and the company received an ISO 9001:2000 International Quality Management System certificate from the German TÜV Südwest.

In 2002 Beta Medikal signed an exclusive representation agreement with ELCON Medical Instruments GmbH, a producer of surgical devices, and became its exclusive distributor in Turkey for ELCON-brand surgical instruments, around 19,000 different kinds. ELCON products are produced in conformity with ISO 13485 standards and are CE and FDA certified. They reach all regions of Turkey through 40 authorised sellers and dealers.
