The KISBU journey started from this about 40 years ago. Nedim Kisbu laid the foundation at the Mercan Sales Branch for the company in 1978 and determined the philosophy and future of KISBU when giving the company his last name, which means “to work and earn through effort, to work and gain, elbow grease” in Ottoman Turkish. The company operated in the first years more with polypropylene thread, polyester thread ropes and bran and added artificial leather to its array of products in subsequent years. KISBI took an important step in its 10th year and in the process of growth opened a new branch in İstanbul’s Bayrampaşa where it stored its products. KISBU gradually developed with the fruits of this newly opened branch and made the decision to open a second sales branch to better serve its customer portfolio.
The company opened its second branch in 1993 and started adding new customers while providing faster, more quality, and reliable services to its existing customers. Its branch network gradually grew and developed, and KISBU introduced the Turkish market to Nonwoven Spunbond fabric, signing off on a great innovation in 1997, and became a pioneer in the sector. It continued to fortify this position with countless innovations it has summoned over the years. KISBI gradually rose with its chart of success and opened a 4,000 m² production facility in Beylikdüzü in 2002, aiming for bigger markets.
