GMD manufactures sterilised absorbable and non-absorbable surgical sutures in line with the United States Pharmacopoeia (USP) and the European Pharmacopoeia (EP). Production takes place in a class 10,000 clean room under a quality assurance system, and every batch is tested before release.
A team of qualified staff handles manufacturing from raw materials to the finished product, and a testing facility carries out the chemical, instrumental and microbiological tests. GMD states that its products meet the requirements of the European Medical Device Directive 93/42/EEC, the European Pharmacopoeia (Ph Eur.) and the USP.
