Bioaktif was established in 1995 as an orthopaedic prosthesis and orthosis centre and began producing orthopaedic soft goods in 1999 to reduce reliance on imports. It later added its own narrow-weaving and flat-knit bandage production and sells its products under the Biofix brand.
